My name is Jennie Gottschalk. I have been researching beans and cooking with them for several years. More broadly, I’m interested in exploring all the different kinds of seeds that can be used for culinary purposes – lettuce, herbs, mushrooms, tomatoes, and I intend to keep growing that list. I’m interested in exploring the many varieties that are available from seed, as opposed to what you can find from a store or even directly from growers. I’m not a good gardener, indoor or outdoor, but I’m a persistent one. In the kitchen, I’m trying out seed-based recipes from around the world. Most of the dishes I’ve posted so far use beans. I also have an Instagram account called @beancentric, with the tagline, “exploring the world, one bean recipe at a time.”
I’m currently working on a collection of bean recipes from around the world for Beanlandia. Most of these dishes are pictured under the Beanlandia Collection tag.
If you are curious about a post, let me know and I’ll put it at the top of the list. Most of these posts are stubs for now. My first priority has been to collect and organize the photos I’ve taken for the past four years. I’m about half-way there. Eventually I will fill in more information for all of the posts.
