Feijão-tropeiro

From Maricel Presilla’s Gran Cocina Latina. “Muleteer’s” beans with bacon and yuca flour, p. 278 (except I forgot the yuca flour!), kale in the style of Minhas Gerais p. 516 (delicious), and rice pilaf p. 298. I think I would have preferred the beans pureed, but the flavors and combination were all great. This was a very rich dish.
